Dear {Contact_First_Name},
Happy Spring! When the sun shines and the flowers bud, I feel more energized and happier. I hope the season's change is having the same effect on you. This April is special in that Easter, Passover and Ramandan are all in one month - for those who observe, we wish you Happy Easter, Eid Mubarak and Chag Pesach Sameach. May your celebration be peaceful and joyous! Along with a delegation of 4 AWC members, I attended the FAWCO annual conference in Porto in March, where 134 participants from 30 clubs met over 2.5 days to learn about FAWCO’s work on our behalf, share clubs’ best practices and network with our FAWCO sisters from around the world. We also raised over $40k for the FAWCO Foundation’s programs. A powerful moment was when a statement on Gaza and Israel from the US Women’s Caucus, of which FAWCO is a founding member, was read aloud with a call to action for clubs to share with our members. LIke FAWCO, AWC Berlin is non-partisan, and we ask our members to refrain from discussing politics at AWC events and on AWC communication channels. However, as a women’s organization, we feel the need to address the situation from a feminist perspective, which this statement does. I hope you will READ THE STATEMENT and stand up in advocacy for the human rights of women and children in this war. For more on the FAWCO Conference, please read Annamaria’s report back.

The Board has made the decision to further support our members by promoting your businesses on our website for free. If you would like to take advantage of this new member benefit, send an image (logo or photo) and a short description of your business (50 words max, including your website) to membership@awcberlin.org. A new page for these listings will be created on the AWC Berlin website by the end of April.

Though our Club has a reduced program this month due to the schools' spring break, there are still fun events on the calendar. If you have not been to an event in a while, we'd love to see you. Please try to come to ONE thing in the next month. If you’re traveling, we wish you a safe journey, and look forward to hearing all about it when you return. I wish you a beautiful start of spring.

Registering to vote is easy from your laptop or smartphone -- go to any of the non-partisan websites above. It only took me only 3 minutes to register on www.votefromabroad.org.
Alternatively, contact AWC member Renee Johnsson at renee.johnsson@gmail.com for more assistance.
In March, we partnered with Vote from Abroad to help US citizens at the JFKS school (students, teachers and parents) register to vote! If you think this would be helpful for Americans at your school, please let me know.
