The Bear FactsMarch 2019

Dear {Contact_First_Name},

The the tulips are poking up and I'm starting to shove my coats to the back of the closet. Who else is ready to get out and see people?

The AWC has a packed calendar for March. In addition to our regular activities, we have several art-related tours, a Chinese Embassy visit, two film & lunch events, a Women's Salon featuring an evolutionary biologist, and more. You can't possibly do it all, but take a look and see what sparks your interest.

With such a full schedule, we'll forgo a General Meeting in March. Therefore, I'd like to make sure you are aware our biggest event of the yearThe Auction of Talentson Friday, April 5th. It's open to partners and guests, and is going to be a fun night! Reserve tickets soon.

I've enjoyed hearing about and seeing photos of your adventures this month. From ski breaks to sun breaks to staying right here in our beautiful city. How lucky we are to be living in Berlin!

Love, Janel

It's Easy to Celebrate

International Women's Day!

March 8 is International Women's Day: a celebration of women's achievements, whether they be social, economic, cultural, political, or personal. How can we celebrate?

A celebration doesn't have to be a big party. It can be as simple as making the time to get together with other women to share experiences, learn from each other, and laugh at life's lessons.

One of the best benefits our club offers, is the opportunity to meet fantastic women from all over the world. This month, you can celebrate the women of AWC by coming to one of the events designed specifically to connect members with other members: Kaffee Klatsch (day)Kaffee Ost (day), a New Member Wine Reception (eve) and Girl's Night Out (eve). Come meet a woman you don't already know, and walk away better for it.

This Spring: Auction of Talents

The American Women's Club of Berlin is hosting its Inaugural Auction of Talents on April 5th, 2019. This is a fundraising event to benefit our 2019 Berlin-based charity: JACK Berlin. There will be a live auction of “services/experiences/events” as well as a silent auction of one-off items. We welcome donations in either category. The event will be open to AWC Berlin members, partners and friends.

ALL of us have a TALENT, so share it!  Consider donating a cooking class, lunch or dinner for a small group, a theme party, an outing on your boat, a weekend at your second home, a walking tour of your neighborhood or a bike tour on your favorite trail, a coaching session on any topic, a painting workshop; the possibilities are endless. Click here to download the Auction of Talents Donation Form – 2019.

If you have a favorite business, consider approaching them for donations, please contact Stephanie for marketing materials.

Please return the completed form to Stephanie Biery at: philanthropy@awcberlin.org by March 1, 2019.

Join the AWC Berlin

We are a vibrant group of women of all ages and our members come from not only the USA but from other countries around the world. Please spread the word and invite your friends to join!

Our LIFE STORIES project is accepting submissions. The LIFE STORIES project, envisioned to become a beautiful published book of stories from our members, was conceived in the Moving Pen writing group and launched in June, 2017. There have been 10 submissions so far. As soon as we have 20, we will look into publication. You don't have to write your life story, just a snap shot, a small story, an experience which has given you knowledge or a realization that you did not have before - therefore answering the prompt, "What I know now that I didn't know then." If you have interest in submitting something, please email Suzy and Janel at lifestories@awcberlin.org by March 30th - you DO NOT need a finished piece, just an idea. Suzy and Janel will work with you to shape your writing.
